Research & Discovery
Interview scripts, screeners, and recruitment — including cold-call outreach — to get in front of the people who actually use the product.
UX Designer & Researcher · Melbourne, Australia
I spent 15 years listening to users in healthcare technology — surgeons, nurses, business owners — and turning what they need into software that ships. Now I do it as a UX designer and researcher.
About
I didn't start in UX — I started in operating theatres and hospital IT departments. For more than 15 years I worked across MedTech at Philips, CareFusion/BD, and metaSOFT, leading requirements elicitation, stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, user acceptance testing, and hospital software implementations across Australia, the Middle East, and Africa. That included the Royal Melbourne Hospital EMR device-connectivity program, where getting the workflow right meant surgeons and nurses could trust the system in the middle of a shift.
That work was UX research and design long before I had the title for it: sitting with the people who'd actually use the software, mapping how they really worked, and translating that into something a development team could build. I've since completed three mentored client UX projects through Harness Projects in Australia, applying that same discipline to product design and research end to end. I also own CapMagic, an internal product suite at Philips, where I design the UX and direct a developer to ship it.
I'm PMP-certified, which shows up in how I run a UX project: scoped, evidenced, and delivered.

How I Work
Six stages I move through on every project, from first conversation to shipped feature.
Interview scripts, screeners, and recruitment — including cold-call outreach — to get in front of the people who actually use the product.
Turning interview and field data into personas, journey maps, and segmentation models that a whole team can align around.
Site maps and user flows that structure a product before a single screen is drawn, including multi-role flows.
Sketches through to fully interactive Figma prototypes, including role-switching prototypes that simulate more than one type of user.
Presenting work back to founders, CEOs, and stakeholders, and adjusting the design based on their feedback.
Handoff documentation and direct collaboration with developers so the design actually ships as intended.
Tools & Methods
Figma — wireframes, component-based UI, and fully interactive prototypes, including role-switching flows.
Interview scripts, screeners, and recruitment planning, including direct outreach to source participants.
Affinity mapping, journey maps, and segmentation models built from qualitative data.
Developer handoff documentation, ClickUp, and agile collaboration with development teams.
Portfolio

Of all the work I saw across the cohort of this program, yours was among the most thorough, most strategically grounded, and most carefully built.
Your framing of monetisation as a "readiness spectrum" rather than a binary decision was a particularly strong and original insight… You demonstrated strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to research.
Sameh has gone consistently above and beyond… The innovative solutions he is coming up with periodically makes him an exceptional asset to the company.
